Basic questions about Kurabiye CMP
Kurabiye is an enterprise-grade consent management platform (CMP) that helps businesses collect, manage, and document user consent for cookies and data processing. It ensures compliance with GDPR, CCPA, LGPD, and TCF v2.2 regulations while maintaining excellent website performance.
Unlike traditional CMPs, Kurabiye uses edge-resolved architecture (Cloudflare Workers) for sub-50ms global latency. It offers zero layout shift for pristine Core Web Vitals, a headless UI for complete design flexibility, and a lightweight 3kb SDK.
Kurabiye supports GDPR (EU), CCPA/CPRA (California), LGPD (Brazil), PIPEDA (Canada), Quebec Law 25, POPIA (South Africa), APPI (Japan), and is TCF v2.2 certified. It automatically adapts consent flows based on user location.
Yes. Depending on the plan, Kurabiye can be used on multiple domains. The Boutique plan includes 1 domain, Patisserie includes 5 domains, and Industrial offers unlimited domains with cross-subdomain consent sharing.
Yes. The Boutique plan is completely free and includes 10,000 pageviews per month, making it suitable for emerging brands, bloggers, and small businesses.
Setup & Installation
Getting started with Kurabiye
Kurabiye can be installed in under 5 minutes by adding a single script tag to HTML head, using the npm package (@kurabiye/sdk) for React/Vue/Next.js applications, or integrating via Google Tag Manager.
Yes, Kurabiye works with WordPress. The script tag can be added directly to the theme header.php, using a plugin like "Insert Headers and Footers", or via a caching plugin.
Yes. For Shopify, the Kurabiye script is added to the theme.liquid file before the closing head tag. It properly handles Shopify checkout and works with abandoned cart recovery tools.
Kurabiye provides native Google Consent Mode v2 support. The script is added via a Custom HTML tag that fires on All Pages. Google tags can then use built-in consent checks or consent-based triggers.
Yes, API keys work on localhost during development. Testing can also be done in incognito mode to simulate new visitors. The dashboard shows real-time consent events.
Features & Capabilities
What Kurabiye can do
Edge resolution means consent preferences are processed at Cloudflare Workers locations closest to users (200+ cities worldwide), ensuring sub-50ms response times globally. This eliminates the latency issues of traditional server-based CMPs.
Identity stitching unifies consent signals across subdomains, mobile apps, and CRM tools into a single user profile. Consent given on one domain applies across the entire ecosystem.
Yes. Kurabiye automatically scans websites to detect cookies and categorize them. The scanner detects cookies from Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, Hotjar, Intercom, and 1000+ other services.
Yes. Kurabiye offers a headless UI approach providing consent logic and state management while allowing completely custom banners matching any design system, or pre-built themes with CSS customization.
Yes. Kurabiye supports 40+ languages with auto-detection based on browser settings or IP location. Custom translations can also be provided.
Zero layout shift means Kurabiye loads synchronously and reserves space for the banner, preventing page content from jumping around. This maintains perfect Core Web Vitals scores (CLS = 0).
Compliance & Legal
Privacy regulations and legal requirements
Yes, Kurabiye is fully IAB TCF v2.2 certified and registered with IAB Europe. It supports all required vendor consent signals and legitimate interest handling.
For GDPR, Kurabiye implements a strict opt-in model requiring explicit, informed consent before any non-essential cookies are set. It provides granular consent categories, easy withdrawal, and immutable proof-of-consent logs.
For California visitors, Kurabiye automatically switches to an opt-out model with required "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" links and Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal support.
Kurabiye offers automatic data residency controls. EU user data stays in the Frankfurt availability zone, US data remains in US data centers. Routing is based on user IP.
Yes. Every consent event is logged with immutable audit trails including timestamp, anonymized user identifier, consent choices, and legal text version. Logs can be exported in JSON or CSV.
Google Integration
GTM, Analytics, Ads, and Consent Mode
Yes. Kurabiye provides native Google Consent Mode v2 support with both Basic and Advanced implementations. Consent signals are automatically communicated to all Google tags.
Basic Consent Mode blocks all Google tags until consent is given. Advanced Consent Mode allows Google tags to fire with limited functionality before consent, enabling modeled conversions.
With proper consent, GA4 works normally. With Consent Mode v2 Advanced, modeled data is received for users who decline consent, recovering 40-70% of otherwise lost data.
Kurabiye pushes consent state to the dataLayer. Triggers can be created based on the kurabiye_consent_update event and variables to check consent categories.
Pricing & Billing
Plans, payments, and value
Yes. The Boutique plan is completely free forever and includes 10,000 pageviews per month, standard themes, 1 domain, and full GDPR/CCPA compliance. No credit card required.
A pageview is counted each time the Kurabiye SDK loads on a page. For SPAs, the initial load plus each route navigation is counted. Bot traffic is automatically filtered.
Notifications are sent at 80% and 100% of the limit. If exceeded, the consent banner continues working. Consistent overages may require a plan upgrade.
Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately with prorated billing. Downgrades apply at the next billing cycle. No penalties for plan changes.
Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and other major cards are accepted. Enterprise customers can pay via invoice with NET 30 terms.
Technical & Development
For developers and technical teams
The Kurabiye SDK is only 3kb gzipped, one of the lightest CMPs available. Compare to competitors at 30-100kb+.
Yes. The SDK is written in TypeScript with full type definitions exported. Autocomplete and type checking work out of the box.
Kurabiye is framework agnostic. It works with React, Vue, Next.js, Nuxt, Angular, Svelte, Astro, Remix, and vanilla JavaScript.
Yes. Kurabiye properly handles client-side routing, persists consent state across navigation, and provides reactive state updates for framework integration.
Yes. The server-side API can verify consent status before processing data. Essential for backend systems that must respect user consent preferences.
Cookies 101
Understanding cookies and consent basics
Cookies are small text files stored in browsers that websites use to remember information. They enable features like staying logged in, remembering shopping carts, and providing personalized experiences.
First-party cookies are set by the website being visited. Third-party cookies are set by external services like analytics or advertising platforms. Third-party cookies are being phased out by browsers.
Strictly necessary cookies are essential for website functionality, like authentication and shopping carts. These do NOT require consent under GDPR.
Analytics tools do not track them (unless using Consent Mode), retargeting does not work, and personalization may be limited. Strictly necessary cookies still work.
GDPR does not specify a duration, but 6-12 months is common practice. CCPA requires remembering opt-out for at least 12 months. Kurabiye defaults to 365 days.
